The North Tarrant Express/I-35W Segment 3A
Rodriguez Engineering Laboratories LLC provided Owner Verification Testing (OVT) for this $1.377 billion project.
The project
Segment 3A includes construction of two managed lanes in each direction and improvements to approximately 6.2 miles ofI-35W from north of I-30 near downtown Fort Worth to north of I-820, including the I-35W/I-820 interchange. Existing frontage roads, bridges, overpasses interchanges, and ramps will be reconstructed. The interchange with I-820 at the western extent of Segment 1 will be reconstructed and include direct connectors between the two segments' managed lane components. Segment 3Bincludes construction of two managed lanes in each direction and improvements to approximately 4.0 miles of I-35W from north of I-820 (joining Segment 3A) to north of US 81/287.
Our Work
· Testing has included more than 1,600 concrete samples with specific tests (i.e. strength, slump, air and temperature).
· More than 300 full testing performed on HMAC.
· More than 2,700 density tests on soils and 300+ in HMAC placement.
· Soil testing has included 150+ Atterberg Limits, 20+ proctors, 9 linear shrinkage.
· Testing has included more than 2,500densities, 1,200 plus concrete samples and over 250 HMAC tests.
